And thanks to you (collectively) I got to play it too because I won a copy in the competition you had in Zzap! issue 3.
Those were the days..."we're proud to be able to offer 100 copies as prizes.". 100 copies!

Be thankful that you never have to go through Nintendo's Lotcheck. It was an absolute nightmare, especially trying to validate the save storage to determine if it was blank, valid, or corrupted. And that was just 1 out of hundreds of requirements. It was even worse if you were doing wireless play.
08.05.2025 12:51 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0RIP Starcadian who was killed this weekend. He was a great guy. Always super-enthusiastic, totally into Amiga and Atari ST music, and far too talented. I've known him since before he finished his first album and what he achieved on his own since then has been truly inspirational.

20.01.2025 12:16 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The voice recording session was provided on an audio CD. I had to record it onto my computer, then follow the script and cut it up into individual named files. I don't speak German, nor do I speak French and Spanish, but I had to do those languages as well. It was three weeks of mind-numbing tedium.
09.12.2024 22:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As @rpwbrowne.bsky.social said, it wasn't until Dracula for the MegaCD that the artists were filmed, digitized and edited for the character animations. It's pertinent to understand that original crop of Psygnosis artists were all graduates from fine art courses at University.

The space where the artists worked was the nice Century office. Our office was awful on pretty much every level. When we were leaving, we found a bin bag behind one of the desks that had been there so long that it had burned through the carpet and men in hazmat suits had to come and disinfect it.

25.11.2024 10:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It was Psygnosis staff in the Microcosm intro, but not Krazy Ivan. They were professional actors and you can see them in IMDB. One of the auditions for Ivan was from Nick Moran who went on to play the lead in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Also, the game was nearly called '40ft Hard'.
It was actually 40% of all European titles across all formats.
