Remotely? I don't think that's so. They sell that access to private parties and live off the revenue stream or use it to fund their IT. Anyway this isn't about the cost, you can't get the filings remotely even if you pay.

I dont think that's what it says. It says they believe it would take years to proactively refund people but if people apply for batched refunds they can get it done faster. How much faster i dunno

This policy needs to be revisited. A couple thousand of these cases around the country in last few months. Many filings inaccessible.
Even causes problems for US Attorney offices because THEY can't see the filings remotely unless the specific attorney is assigned to that case

And how did it get a 2010 request number in 2023? Wonders of #FOIA never cease
