When a federal judge (finally) put ICE officers under oath, they admitted that they are given daily detention quotas and rely heavily on a Palantir-supplied AI tool to select targets, without warrants and without enough evidence to obtain one. They simply go into neighborhoods and round people up.

Ironically the visceral discomfort of LI's uncanny valley helped me understand audiences who trust video of some random person onscreen explaining a topic more than actual news. I suspect legacy news sounds to them like formulaic, try hard LI slop, and I get wanting info from literally anywhere else

My sole job at State from 2019-2021 was analyzing US military plans, posture, and operations in CENTCOM and for Iran and, at times, State even tried to have complementary diplomatic plans or regional evacuation plans. We got mediocre at best engagement from CENTCOM. OSD actively blocked engagement.
A seriously under-discussed problem with the Biden interregnum is that Democratic foreign policymakers basically adopted all of the Trump I maxims in MENA, in particular the expansion of the Abraham Accords which have done nothing for stability in the region.
