#MATSUS in Valencia, Spain. What a nice conference focused on the development of next-gen OECTs and understanding of the fundamental mechanisms.
Thank you to @scottkeene.bsky.social, @SabineLudwig, @TomVanDerPol for the organisation and kind invitation 🧠☀️
Interesting paper about the benefit of blending 2 n-type polymers (here N2200 and glycolated-NDI derivates) to enhance the performance of OECTs. By @cgbischak.bsky.social and his team. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1...
➡️ Press release ⬅️ How does our work at @icpees.bsky.social contribute improving biosensors for medical applications? This question is answered by the @cnrs-alsace.bsky.social press release which presents the improvements reported in our last article on high-performance OECTs.
I am grateful to @femtomat.bsky.social, @stelorg.bsky.social, and #SimoneFabiano 's group for their valuable contributions in this work!

Figure 5 finally presents how aligned OECTs enhance the stability over 1000 pulsing cycles compared to non-aligned ones. Note that the stability remains the key parameter to enhance. Limiting the (de)doping range enhances stability, reaching 93% of Ids retention, at the expense of Ids amplification.
Figure 4 summarizes the enhancement of the normalized-gm (recalculated from the literature) and µC* values over the years for aqueous-based OECTs, underlining the unprecedented values achieved with aligned PBTTT-8O. A naive sketch tentatively illustrates the key parameters benefiting aligned films.
Figure 3 presents you how correlating the evolution of the absorbance of the channel vs. the Ids current flowing through over 1000 ON/OFF cycles informs us on the mechanisms of degradation. The aligned channels demonstrated faster response and higher cycling stability compared to non-aligned ones.
Figure 2 highlights that the > x10 Ids output enhancement is directly found on the transfer curves (raw data, independent of any model)
Figure 1 shows that aligning the polymer chain along the OECT channel direction does not imapct the electrochemical doping behaviour comapred to non-aligned channel
➡️ Paper out in Adv. Mater. ⬅️ Want to boost the IDS output of an OECT? By aligning the chains of a high-perf' single-ether PBTTT, we reached an unprecedented signal amplification (gmL/Wd = 2 580 S cm-1). Collab:

A new paper is out! By combining unsubstituted thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole (TzTz) and direct (hetero)arylation polymerisation (DHAP), ambipolar and n-type conjugated polymers with improved backbone planarity and deep LUMO levels have been synthesised.
