Issue 29 of Conan the Barbarian did something really special. No spoilers, but the characterization and deep dive into Hyborian age psyche, hasn't been seen since the Frozen Faith arc (13-16).

I truly appreciate @jimzub.bsky.social taking risks to elevate the story.

That turned out amazing.

May is going to be a great month for the Hyborian Age!

One quick clarification: like the original Weird Tales Conan stories, we jump around the timeline, so this new story arc is set before he becomes King of Aquilonia.

That's pretty much it. It's where the emphasis goes. They're the words that anchor the sentence and/or contain key information I want to stick with readers.

Some writers bold the words they want the letterer to bold, but if the font isn't thick enough or the letterer is in a rush they can miss it, so I use underline instead to make it really clear what should be bolded in the final text.

The DLC didn't work for me as well as the main game, but I'm always measuring this stuff in comparison to the best Souls/FromSoft experiences I've had so it's still leagues above most other games.

That first play through is both awe inspiring and overwhelming.

I can write powerful and dramatic things in my script, but none of it works in the end unless the art team is in sync with those ideas and delivers the goods.
