I was treated today to my first Scottish Hobby at my old patch of Cramond Island. It was briefly harassed by LBBG before it flew N directly to Fife. I believe it's a subadult based on light-tipped primaries. #BirdingScotland @birdinglothian.bsky.social

There has been an unusual number of Puffins along the eastern coast in recent days. I've had 16 at Torness, East Lothian last weekend.

Thanks for the tips, Geoff. Structurally, it didn't fit the YLG, either. The gull was the same size as HG, the bill was relatively narrow and the head showed extensive streaking.
