One thing I love about Yuri/Byleth supports is the power dynamic. Byleth is not exactly someone Yuri needs to depend on, and def not his teacher. Byleth is more like a friend he trusts to confine in. The way he talks about his dreams feels like a genuine moment of vulnerability bc it’s not sth he—

Also I forgot that when I did it on SS hard I had Byleth bottlenecked everything bc he wouldn’t die

Imagine my surprise when the enemies immediately beelined for my weakest units bc I couldn’t pull them all at once. My team was player phase focused so it was rough but gambits saved the day 😂

Thinking back, Hunting by Daybreak only took some DPa and no soft resets so all things considered my team was equipped well enough to do it but

what bothered me was I didn’t quite figure out what triggered enemies to move. It felt like I did sth wrong even tho I pulled through anyway 😂

Still I wonder if it’s a time crunch thing bc they already knew how to counter OP units in Conquest by giving players objectives that aren’t just defeat bosses/route enemies.

I meant 3H chapter 13 was horrid and they admitted they didn’t put enough work to balance it iirc 😂

I think 3H has similar issues to Awakening where the devs introduced new mechanics but didn’t bother to balance the difficulty around it.

Although I think Maddening does a better job patching the issue than Awakening Lunatic. Plus they did redeem themselves w Ashen Wolves lol the dlc was great.

I don’t really play FE for the narratives so I don’t often talk about it but Awakening at least has many scenes that genuinely give me goosebumps haha. That ending scene with Robin’s hand too.

I rewatched Awakening cutscenes on YT and I gotta say that Chrom’s line ‘you deserve better from me than one sword and a word of troubles’ will always hit so hard 🥲

Tbh I can’t really pick a favorite bc I like the ones I’ve played for different reasons. I have a soft spot for 3H bc it has interesting mechanics that didn’t exist in older games but it’s not perfect. Awakening is my fav narrative-wise but for gameplay it’s Fates. I mostly played modern FE tho 🤣

I think that’s enough musing for one day 🤣

I too was upset that the game wouldn’t let M!Byleth s support Claude but now Yuri is everything to me 🥹🫶 like he and Byleth have the exact dynamic I love so I felt like I lucked out. We got so few gay supports it feels like a crime.

Anyway I am not like taking the stats that seriously. Just found the weird RNG in this run kinda funny is all

There are so many things I would never touch on hard mode. Actually I think you could do hard mode wo using gambits on anything but monsters 😂 but they become so crucial on maddening and I really like that they don’t just exist as stat boosters anymore.

Like I know this map is gonna be hard on maddening but I didn’t expect to be fighting for my life protecting units I didn’t train lolol

But it also was so satisfying to pull off something like this and it doesn’t fee like cheating 😂

ADHD medication is necessary for me bc nothing else helped me get my work done in a timely manner. I used to rely solely on deadlines and it’s quite self-destructive 😂 I think it’s still worth getting a diagnosis if executive dysfunction is causing problems
