There is no standardization on these, the sizes of the sides, the sizes of the holes, the weight, even the material varry, althought that seems to be most often copper based alloy.

You deffinetly CAN knit with it. Just like you CAN put make up on with paint roller, neither is actually a good idea. If the Romans knew how to knit (it is still under debate), the knitting was probably done with pegged tool, but the round shape of the pegs makes this unpractical.

There are actually a lot of (assumed) women burried with crafting supplies such as spindles and some with weaving tablets, as well as sickles and pots, so per se being burried with a knitting tool wouldn't be such out of line thing, but I don't think that would be why these were in graves.

Unlikely. Again, could be done, but an overkill. Like you can smash garlic gloves with the newest iPhone Pro, but you wouldn't do that, because the worth of the product is more or less for showing that you have it, not finding other uses for it instead.

Not with 5 loops with majority of yarns used by Romans. There actually isn't even evidence of yarn made gloves from Roman era (oldest ones I can think of are Byzantinian or newer (no C14 yet).

It can be knitted with, it just isn't very smart or practical. Like stirring coffee with an axe or putting on make up with a paint roller.

Well... Show me the balaclava or a sock that is knitted with 5 pegs. Even fingers would need more loops than 5 per finger with most of the yarn used by Romans. Yes, you can knit with it... Then again, I can use an axe to stir my coffee. 🤷‍♀️

There is a whole movement on planning potatoes to a forest. Apparently moss and clay are great for growing potatoes and you barely need to wash those before boiling.

I frogged a dormant project today. It was casted on on a whim to be knitted with my knitting machine. After 10 years of owning a knitting machine, I have come to the conclusion, that I don't like knitting with the machine and I don't think the sock blank-hype came to stay. It's time to say farewell.

"Ei" tends to make that... It is very heavily a spoken language fraze, the formal would be "Minulla ei ole yhtään rahaa", which also breaks flow-wise to "ei".

I've tried using some embroidery frames as well as my knitter's loom as a sprang loom, none really worked. One of my friends actually built a long warp sprang loom over A-frame ladder, but I hope I won't get into sprang that much, I don't think I would have space for one...

I hope so! My previous attempts of learning sprang have been brought to arrupt termination due non-functioning sprang loom. If this design worked (as we assume) for the foremothers who lived at the beginning of Metal eras, it should work now too.

Two quick fix trials for archaic sprang loom with modern fixtures, both laying at the dusting frame.
