I don't know the story. A friend made a mix of Brazilian songs and sent it to me years ago (we were both into Brazilian music in the 90s/00s as well as other types) and one of the songs was on it. I have a CD that was released a while back (I don't really care what kind of plastic my music is on).

The wah’d rhythm guitar of Reggie Lucas is nice n’ high in the mix but Pete Cosey remains unstoppable - listen to the way he uses the EMS synth to send “Ife” into the furthest reaches of space, then disappears into a fog of tape echo.
Don’t sweat the low fidelity of this tape. Become one with it.
