genuinely need to write a book about all the absolutely surreal shit they came up with for us all in the span three weeks. from anklets with mini bells on them that we weren’t allowed to acknowledge when asked, to pitch dark rooms where all we did was get yelled at while they asked us shit questions

In my school the drinking aspect of hazing was mostly on the guys. We were actually forced to go dry for the month. But for us the hazing was a constant thing, even if it was just psychological. Aside from classes/sleeping we were constantly together and monitored, with ridiculous rules to follow.

I’m of the opinion his whole team sucks (grooming and styling) but I’m not sure how much of it has his input so maybe it’s just not my cup of tea and not actually the team’s fault, y’know? I rarely clap though, that’s for sure. They’re all lucky he can pull anything off.

and that’s the thing too, unless you have a upperclassmen willing to blab most freshmen pledges have NO idea about the extent of the hazing. Before I got my bid all the “sisters” seemed like the sweetest girls, and were so fun. Once pledging started it was almost a complete 180 from so many of them.

Greek life held most of the parties so the social life at my school kinda circled it in a sense, and me and my closest friends/roommates all got bids to the same sorority so it just felt like fate in a way. If at 18 I wasn’t sure my mom *would* actually go to the school I wouldn’t have dropped it.

It desperately needed to be steamed but I get that Connor is an ambassador. But then the choice of him and Fran being in nearly identical outfits was ridiculously, imo. Especially for an event that’s centered around Connor and not ysl adjacent. Weird ass decisions all around.

It does! It especially teaches young men the shit mentality of “staying loyal” and alibi culture. In my uni almost all pledges got pulled aside by adm to ask whether hazing was happening (bc during my year a frat got suspended) and NOT ONE person ever said “yeah, we get tortured almost daily.”

I’m glad I got to experience it, honestly. Opened my eyes to a lot of stuff. I’m very glad my mom stepped in though and even more so that I eventually left that uni and came to Brazil, cause the fallout of leaving the sorority was shit to live through at 18/19 lol

they do make you feel weak if you complain, but it’s like they make it seem as if it’s honor of even being with them. and sometimes it does really feel like the best move is just to get through it. In the us hazing is prohibited by the school, but it almost never gets to the point where adm step in.

The very nearly identical ysl outfits for an event that’s not related to ysl was such a wack choice for Connor and François, and their team should’ve told them that.

I have so many stories of the shit they out us through bc I only left 5 days before the pledge month was over. The frats are usually rooted in physical but the sororities, or at least mine, relied mostly on psychological and you know it’s not normal but you feel like you need to power through it.

The tactics these frats/sororities use to keep their pledges in line are jarring and no one living outside of it understands, rightfully so, but when you’re in it ,it genuinely feels like there’s no way out but through. And they make sure you feel extremely privileged to even be living through hell.

Had it not been for my Brazilian mom outright threatening to go to the school and straight up sitting me down to say she wasn’t paying tuition so I could voluntarily be tortured, I wouldn’t have left despite how miserable I was. It’s ridiculously easy to get into the mind of an 18-19 year old.

I’ve seen so many videos talking about the body cam footage of the frat pledges being hazed and how unbelievable it is that even when the cops told them to move they wouldn’t, and if I hadn’t lived though a sorority pledge that was rooted in hazing I wouldn’t believe it either but it’s so insidious.

I know we can’t compare projects but the racist hate train hudson williams is facing online (hopefully only on x) is so so similar to the vitriol they threw at tzp and it’s making me genuinely scared that it’ll all ramp again when the sequel comes out.
