Challenge the dogma? Take a look at @mads100tist.bsky.social #Zebrafish story😁

Rohon-Beard neurons persist till 15 dpf
They hide (converge medially), NOT die off by 5 dpf (as believed)😎

Are 15-dpf RB neurons still arborized?🥸

So happy to share this in the middle of moving! Updates to our preprint looking at interactions between NOD2 and estrogen in zebrafish intestinal homeostasis, with truly outstanding work by Mckenna Eklund.

Absolutely, LLMs shouldn’t be used for scientific text generation. Literature research is something that needs to be conducted by the person. And LLMs are here now and will be used in that context so it’s really important to discuss this critically. Thanks for sharing! 🌞

Juicy pizza with green chocolate bar in front of it on a work desk. The keyboard peeks in from the left and a NFDI4BIOIMAGE mouse pad is in the background.

Tfw you bump into a colleague at the microwave and they give you a bar of chocolate to help you get through a long day at work.

A sneak peak of a complex and technically challenging experiment that my lab developed: doi.org/10.1096/fj.2.... Super proud of PhD candidate Hannah Johnson for showcasing our Whole-gut spatial genomic analysis in #zebrafish. This video illustrates one landmark in the protocol after multiple 1/3

I may have taken the week off, but #FluorescenceFriday remains a treat. This week we have a single villus in a fish gut, with individual nuclei in white and secretory cells in cyan. Each one of these images makes me stop and smile for a few simple moments.

Image of a larval zebrafish gut. the gut runs as a simple tube from top left to bottom right in the screen. In this image the nucleus of each cell is visible as a simple blue dot. All cells in the synthesis (S) phase of the cell cycle are visible in red. Proliferating cells decorate the entire surface of the gut with no discernible patterns.

Working my way through paper revisions and I neeeeeed to share this #FluorescenceFriday banger from Mckenna Eklund. EdU (red) labelling of S phase cells in a larval zebrafish gut. Simple but striking. No notes.
