You are Part of the System Today, we go meta. When listening to a podcast this morning, the above sentence stood out for me. But it was not really further discussed. "You are part of the system." I had to stop the podcast to get my head around that sentence. And understand just how much valuable information is in this statement. When drawing a picture of a system, putting a multi-dimensional mental model into a 2D representation, one often ignores an important aspect.

When you describe a model or a system, you tend to forget the influence of yourself. Of course, you don't draw yourself into the model. Your context (a big, invisible box) highly influences it.

What strikes me about this is the ease at which videos with fake nonsense can be made/shared/trick people compared with effort it takes to get to the truth or show the reality. You see same in health/wellness and it feels like such an uphill battle… more power to those putting in the work

Estou a dizer que não se pode subestimar o fenómeno dos portugueses preferirem o introvertido e reservado numa casa onde só se fala alto. É um fenómeno, não uma regra.

A comparação pode ser rebuscada, mas dou por mim a pensar no Zé Maria a ganhar o primeiro Big Brother há 25 anos. TV chiclete à parte, aquilo revelou algo sobre a sociedade portuguesa, que consegue valorizar perfis mais calmos e reservados. O Zé era muito mais popular que os ruidosos e histriónicos.

Agora é que a porca vai torcer o rabo e muitos vão ter de mostrar se o sentido democrático se sobrepõe às cores partidárias. Por outras palavras: vem aí 3 semanas bem duras.

Dei por mim a pensar isso hoje na dita cabine. Este ano operacionalmente deve ser mais difícil gerir as mesas de voto com a quantidade de eleitores que ficam uns minutos nas cabines a coçar a cabeça enquanto olham para o papel 😂
