Golf, travel, Partick Thistle, music (mainly prog rock), scones!
What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Focus, at Backstage@GreenHotel, Kinross.
With apologies for the bald headed gentleman sitting in front of me!
Dreich day yesterday at the start of the round at Leven Links, but fortunately it improved as the day went on. Before and after photos!
Cracking score, 3 over par. And managed to half our match after being two down with three to play. πͺ
So apparently we have been playing it since the early 70s. Our manager then, Davie McParland, was a fan and introduced it. He lead our team to only our second (and last π’) major trophy, so itβs played each week as a nod to his success with us.
09.11.2025 11:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Seeing them tomorrow! Looking forward to this particular track; they play it before every home game at Firhill (Partick Thistleβs stadium).
08.11.2025 21:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Stood on that very spot on the first day of my holiday back in August. Hard to beat that view!
06.11.2025 20:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Beth Nielsen Chapman tonight, at Queenβs Hall, Edinburgh.
An old favourite hereβ¦β¦
Some beautiful autumnal colours this morning at Dullatur GC. Winter mats as well though, unfortunately!
02.11.2025 12:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ya beauty! 5-0 win. Donβt get a score like that too often!!
01.11.2025 17:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bright and sunny at Firhill todayβ¦β¦with horrific showers lurking!
Cβmon The Jags!
Looks like you had a great view for Rick and his band.
I enjoyed The Six Wives, but the King Arthur set was a step upβ¦..fabulous! I took a βnon prog friendβ along, he was blown away by The Myths & Legends.
Letβs hope Rick can keep playing for many more years.
Always comes across as such a lovely guy. His one man shows are great; the stories are as good as the music.
And he can still play, his current show is superb.
Iβm not a huge movie fan, I far prefer live music.
But I canβt recommend the new film βI Swearβ highly enough. Thereβs not many films that can make you laugh out loud, but also have tears streaming down your face.
Itβs released in the UK now, other regions to follow. Go see it!
You canβt beat live music! And Iβve been to a venue in Kentish Town, all the way from Glasgow for the gig π±
25.10.2025 23:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Australian Pink Floyd tonight at The Usher Hall, Edinburgh. Seriously impressive!
25.10.2025 23:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, Iβm seeing Wakeman and Wilson too, they added a Scottish date! ππ
22.10.2025 21:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0He was right back on form this time around, ably supported by Adam.
Oz Pink Floyd for me on Saturday. Never seen them before so really looking forward to it.
You will love the Rick Wakeman gig; the whole band were on fire in Glasgow last week!
22.10.2025 17:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Queen & The Soldier, my favourite Suzanne Vega song, performed tonight at The Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow.
Very enjoyable gig, and Thistle won too!!
When two passions collide!
Off to see Suzanne Vega tonight, but a Thistle game has been rearranged so they are playing (about two miles away) at the same time! Disaster.
And even worse, I have the same problem coming up on Saturday too π±π€¬

Canβt wait for the UK version in February next year. My first Morsefest π±
Trust you had an amazing time?
Great 1-0 win for The Jags yesterday, hard fought and maybe a touch fortunate. Josh Clark made a couple of saves early on, without those, it could have been a different game.
What a fantastic team goal though! From the right back area, thro midfield and left wing, then a glorious volleyed finish!
Loving the new album from The Last Dinner Party.
But why does no one ever class them as Prog? All the elements are there!
Looking forward to seeing them again next month.
And a very small snippet of Catherine Howardβ¦β¦
16.10.2025 22:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A little bit of King Arthur from Rick Wakeman and The English Rock Ensemble tonight in Glasgow.
Even at the ripe old age of 76, Rick has still got it!
Beautiful day al Leven Links yesterday. Best round in many weeks, seven over par. But three over after fifteen!! π€¬
16.10.2025 10:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs always possible to lick the icing off the inside of the box tho! π
13.10.2025 12:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 01-1, with an equaliser in injury team. We were the better team but I guess we should be happy with the draw, given the late goal.
I thought it was an excellent game, great entertainment!
Forgot to post last week from my first Thistle game in a few weeks π
Down to a sun bathed Cappielow Park today, always a tough game down here against Morton.
π€for a decent result (hopefully a wee win!).
