De Felipe V a Juan Carlos I: la biografía familiar de los Borbones La historia de la España moderna puede contarse a través de los reyes de esta dinastía. Perfilamos su vida, con las luces y las sombras, a través de sus mejores biógrafos y grandes historiadores

Very interesting reflection profiting of JCI'sautobiography. Nevertheless, I would not say that the best biography of Felipe V is Henry Kamen. I liked more the last book of Christopher Stores

Beyond the amazing work with slavery and afrodescendientes heritage on the city, they have recovered amazing stories. That is the case of the statue of Santo Antonio which was made soldier, and made it's own cursus hoborum along the eighteenth century.

But what is amazing is how this triggered a renew way to approach to their local history. Their museography is very critical with classical narratives, and well based on historical reseach. Their archeological methods shows the impact of the Earthquake of 1755.

It has been amazing to discover the municipal museum of Lagos (Portugal), and more specificall, their museum of slavery. They were pioneer in discussing it at a national level, and still their musseography is compelling

Cover of Inhabitants of the Deep: The Blueness of Blackness by Jonathan Howard. The cover features a dark blue background with a painted image of a Black figure in a sheer white garment on the right-hand side. The figure appears to be deep underwater, based on the patterns of refracted light on the figure's body. On the left-hand side is a distorted reflection of the figure, as though seen from above the water's surface.
