Graham Platner SLAMS Trump, Lays Out Democrats' Strategy for the Midterms
Graham Platner on Pod Save America.
Offers a pretty specific critique of Janet Mills's policy record; gets into the nuts and bolts of what his general election strategy would look like; and discusses how he'd push back against millions in ads going after his credibility and judgment. #MEpolitics

Ken, Ken, Ken. Look at my profile and posts. If I'm a fake Platner fan, I've been working hard at it for many months every since he entered the race. I'm not sure why you're so offended; I'm sorry. We simply look at things differently. I'm not going to block you, but I am going to cut this off.

I believe the people fixated on the tattoo that happened to be a totenkopf (a fairly obscure symbol of Naziism not even recognized as such by most people in the US) are stuck in this developmental phase. 2/2

Kids go thru a developmental stage where they can't differentiate between the symbol for a number & the actual number. They don't understand that the symbol is arbitrary. 1/2

Again, I think different people simply have different attitudes about the significance of tattoos. I accept that you look at it differently than I do, but, please, not being bothered by it is not equivalent to being blase about fascism.

Well, again, differing attitudes re: the significance and meaning of tattoos. I'm sorry, all I see is a dumbass biker skull & crossbones acquired by an idiot marine, not mystical fascist symbology. It's just not that meaningful to me. Oh well, nice chatting with you and I'm glad he has your vote.

that defines a person for the rest of their life. They take them all SOOOO seriously. I think Graham, in his early 40s, may fall somewhere in the cusp between these 2 mindsets. I definitely don't think they define the person within. Although I admit I wouldn't date Pete Hegseth! 2/2

& one more thing! I'm in my 70s. I see a big difference in attitude re: tattoos between seniors & genZ. For us it's a dumb thing military types get when they're drunk & can't get laid. It's just ink on skin; NBD, not very meaningful. For genZ it seems like a mystical, meaningful rite of passage 1/2

I support him because he is NOT those things, and because I believe he, and others like him, others like you and me, are the best defense against fascism and racism. 2/2

I've lheard him answer questions about this over & over & over . I accept his explanation as the truth.
That DOES NOT MEAN I minimize fascism & racism.
On the contrary. If I believed he was a fascist or racist I would not support him & I resent any implication that I would. 1/2

And no one cares about the tat except people from away like you. Mainers have decided that he is not defined by his tattoo. Tough concept for Gen Z to grasp, I know.

Graham will beat Collins with on-the-ground organizing and a positive message that working people deserve more, and we can get it if we work together. He's held almost 50 town halls across ME; answers every (unscreened) question w/o deflection and with grace. He's the real deal, and he can win.

All the unions in Maine, including nurses in Houlton & Ft Kent who he's been supporting to unionize. Tell Platner's family he's antisemitic: they'll laugh & laugh (yes, half of them are Jewish; one lives in Israel).
Refrain from commenting when you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Platner is nothing like either Manchin or Fetterman. You're comparing apples with potatoes and corn. He's straightforward pro-labor and progressive.

Platner is nothing like either Manchin or Fetterman. He's straight out progressive and proud of it with an activist history to prove it.

Looks like there will be pretty good turnout at the Dem caucus in Brunswick. This past year has truly pushed people to engage in local politics to build movements for a better future for Maine and the country. Really happy to see it! Wish I had numbers for all the events this weekend.

The best way to keep our troops safe is simple: donβt send them into a stupid war no one wanted in the first place.
Paul LePage is for forever wars. Iβm not.

My heart goes out to the families of the deceased service members, killed in this illegal and stupid assault on Iran.
I know the suffering families go through when they lose loved ones. And I know how much worse it is when it's something that didn't have to happen.
