I’m not pretending I’m going to be perfect while working towards lifestyle changes, but I hope the meds quiet the part of my brain that insists on eating if I happen to be up past 1030. Mostly just keeping Jack (and his friends, like Edy) out of the freezer will be the key.

I’m starting on a GLP-1 injection medication tomorrow (err today technically) due to a new type 2 diabetes diagnosis, so tonight I’m having a farewell Jack’s.

I should’ve broken up with Jack years ago but here we are. I don’t know when the last time was that I had a Jack’s earlier than 10 pm.

Meh, Saturdays are usually pretty chill and there’s an extra differential pay for weekend coverage. Would I rather be sipping coffee with a dog next to me on the couch? Yes. But I’ll survive.

2 week until college hoops starts. Hit me up if you’re a reasonable college basketball fan, especially if you have an irrational love for late night WAC and Big West games. or MVC/Horizon league folks.

I’ll stick to mid major hoops and US Soccer. If any Drake (the university in Des Moines, not the Canadian rapper) want to come at me for cheering for Bradley, have at it. And I’ve got a kid UW-Milwaukee who is a student manager for their hoops squad. So I’ve got plenty to keep me occupied.

The fact is that every fan base is 95+ percent fine but the 5 percent who aren’t are often the loudest, most vile ones who somehow think the team they like makes them superior in some way to fans of their rivals.

The last couple of days reaffirmed my divestment from sports. I let the brewers creep back in to my orbit but between Milwaukee Karen threatening ICE to the dodgers fan who was recording himself trolling brewers fans, to the cubs fans coming after me in DMs because of a flag, it’s all so dumb.

It’s just mind boggling that the cubs gave up more runs to the brewers in the first 9 at bats of game 1 than the dodgers gave up to then the entire series.

Was talking to a co worker at my new job (~4 months now so Not so new) who does some per diem work at my old hospital and man , rose colored glasses of course but it sounds like I got out of there just in time. Change is so good sometimes
