Do short stories count? This is a "sketch" (rough draft) of a short story that I'm writing.

I have. Structuring stories into quarters defined by the player's ability to develop theories and headcannon has been helpful for me.

Things like stakes and pacing can be tricky for writing, and while it isn't a perfect 1:1 comparison, I've tested out story telling concepts around the D&D table before, like when to drip information, when to tease at something, and when to pull the rug. Helps to get real-time feedback.

That awful feeling when you know that you wrote something down, and now you have to find out which "Untitled Document" you left it in.

One of the best short stories i’ve read in a while from one of my favorite contemporary writers @rachaelkjones.bsky.social. Look at the craft! Impeccable!

I'm not very well experienced (yet), but the biggest lessons I've learned is that when you are writing for a team, be prepared to make changes. Be prepared to add details to support mechanics, and to subtract detail in the writing that can be conveyed visually or mechnically.

I think we all drip our own mental illness into our characters, whether we want to or not.

I'm finally trying Final Fantasy XII again, which I'm more or less enjoying. The entire gameplay system was a real turn off for me back when I picked it up the first time. It's hard to enjoy the story when I'm busy trying to keep the mechanics straight, but I feel bad owning it and never finishing

"No. It's half piggie, and half corn."
