Thank you, Valerian!
I'll take it easy for a bit. I'll come back when I'm better.
I can relate so well. There is no middle ground. It's overdrive or exhaustion for me too.
Taking breaks could help. But it's so hard to stop yourself before work is finished.
I'm sorry for not answering any comments I got lately.
I struggle with social anxiety. I want to get rid of it and be more outgoing and make friends. But I have phases where I just get scared at the thought of replying to people. :P
I know it's dumb. I'll read and answer them all when I'm back. ๐ฆ๐งก
I'll log off from social media until the weekend to focus on myself. Need to recover a bit. ๐ฆ
I'm not unhappy, just exhausted from overworking myself on a hobby project and skipping sleep.
I always get hyperfixated on projects. I know it's unhealthy, but it's hard for me to avoid it.
Oh, I completely forgot about tags on bsky.
That's a good idea, I'll give it a try.
A Banjo-Kazooie PC port is out now: youtu.be/0906Cz-59eU
Can I be honest? I never tried any of those recompiled N64 to PC ports so far. Maybe I'm just weird. At some point I'll give it a try.
I'm happy for everyone who enjoys them. I can imagine they're very mod friendly which is amazing for fans.
Wait, what? A Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition has been confirmed to exist via the Australian Classification Board.
I have no expectations. I'll admit, my heart jumped a little just from reading the name Rayman again after years of absence. ๐ฆ
I love Rayman. But I'm not sure if Ubisoft does anymore.
Playing GTA (Grand Theft Auto) Liberty City Stories on the Sony PlayStation Portable. I still have the CheatDevice by edisoncarter installed, I made some fun codes for that back in the day.
I spent the evening playing PSP. Still love that little portable.
Late January last year we had a Gigaleak of R* PSP and PS2 prototypes.
It's happening again now. I'll put together a collection of community made fixes for these prototypes including some I made myself.
The reason I don't use Discord is that I once landed on a server of bigots who made fun of me because of my avatar and stalked me for months after.
It scared me and I never logged back into Discord again.
Beautiful ice flowers on my roof window this morning. I wish I had seen them last night when they were more visible. Just a few minutes after I took this picture they were gone.

The cancelled 2D version of Rayman 2 for PS1.
Yeah I love the final Rayman 2 soundtrack too, but it's interesting to see what could've been.
The 2D version wasn't as dark and serious as The Great Escape.
It kept the cutesy art style and vibe from Rayman 1. The music was composed by Daniel Masson who also did the Rayman Junior music.
It was made by Daniel Masson, who also composed the music for Rayman Junior in 1997. He shared the full track (without ambience) on YouTube:

We previously knew this song from a 1996 preview video for the cancelled 2D Rayman 2: youtu.be/k8d3I3_6FOg
Here's the only known music track from the unreleased 2D Rayman 2 from 1996.
It was cancelled in favour of a 3D game after the developers saw Crash Bandicoot at the 1996 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The song comes from a PAL PS1 prototype disc of Rayman 2: The Great Escape owned by SolidSnake11.
Kraftwerk - Expo 2000 Jingle In 1999 the World Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany commissioned Kraftwerk for a jingle. A vocoder voice singing the words "Expo 2000" in 6 languages. The jingle was only available as a promo CD via HAZ newspaper and became a rare collectible.

"Little Sadie" fascinates me with its Dorian mode tune and unconventional way of telling a murder ballad story.
Troy Junius Arnall remade it into "Cocaine Blues" in 1947 with a much less interesting tune. Johnny Cash performed it at Folsom Prison in 1968.
Here's a performance by Tom Paley in 1970.
Here's "Donkey Riding", a fun sea shanty. The song refers to steam donkey engine ships, not actual donkeys. :3
Tune and words are based on a Scottish folk song, "Highland Laddie". Shanties often recycled older songs.
Performed by Tony Hall at the Blaxhall Ship Inn in Blaxhall, Suffolk, UK in 1973.
Feel free to widely share this curated easy to understand #Satellaview knowledge that I just posted on my blog.
I didn't want to overscope it but I spent a lot of time explaining a curated list of games for those who have no idea what the Satellaview is.

22.01.2026 13:12 โ ๐ 119 ๐ 44 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 5Tim in Tibet / Tim Der Sonnentempel German Game Boy releases of the Tintin games based on the Franco-Belgian comic series. Amazing music by Alberto J. Gonzรกlez (McAlby) but simple and often frustrating gameplay. The 2nd game on the right is the better one with a much more forgiving difficulty and less "blink and you're dead" moments. It's worth playing at least once for the soundtrack, more so if you're a fan of the comics.
Tim in Tibet / Tintin Le Temple Du Soleil German Super Nintendo releases of the Tintin games based on the Franco-Belgian comic series. The SNES versions look nice but are much less enjoyable to play than the Game Boy versions. They're full of "blink and you're dead" moments. The music is decent but nowhere on the same level of quality as the Game Boy soundtracks which were done by Alberto Gonzรกlez aka McAlby. There is some Schmutz on the SNES carts. ๐ฆ I left all the games as I got them. It must've been a price sticker on them someone removed.
Tim und Struppi / Tintin on SNES & Game Boy ๐ฆ
The GB games have a brilliant soundtrack by Alberto J. Gonzรกlez (McAlby). Hands down the best music I heard coming from the hardware back in the day.
Temple du Soleil / Prisoners of the Sun is the better game. A simple platformer with incredible music.

22.01.2026 14:34 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0There was someone selling a "Super Mario World 3" in the local newspaper when I was a kid.
I was so curious what it was, thinking it was a game I didn't have. I never found out.
Probably it was a typo and was Yoshi's Island.
Or it was Super Mario RPG imported, but that's unlikely, it wouldn't work.
European PAL SNES console I inherited from my older cousin in the 90s. Probably my favourite console design of all time. It's sleek, playful and sturdy. I love it.

Colourful SNES buttons โค๏ธ๐๐๐
How could anyone dislike colourful buttons ๐
The European PAL SNES was the one time we really lucked out and got a beautiful console design where America got an ugly brick and purple controller buttons.
We did miss out on some really great RPGs though.
English used to differentiate between a familiar "thou" and a formal "you" when addressing someone. It dropped out of usage around the 17th century except in northern regional dialects (Yorkshire).
In German this distinction still exists with a familiar "du" and a formal "Sie" (always capitalised).
