Yesterday I just heard back from Finishing Press they accepted my poetry manuscript. I’m still in shock.

Last night, two old people stood out in our street with binoculars and cameras to record the lunar eclipse. It’s good no one reported us to the police as people waiting to be taken by aliens. Saw most of the eclipse but only slightly the red at halfway. I so wanted to see the Blood Moon.

Finish a poem about playing Monopoly with my nephew when I was in HS. He usually won because he liked high rolling properties and I always felt sorry for my imaginary tenants.
Send out one more package of poems to make up for the one rejection I received late yesterday.

Tasks for today: I need to finish a draft poem for the City of Lacey’s poem for April (National Poetry Month). Does everyone know that Lacey was named after a scoundrel? I have to get that into a poem, yes??

My birthday falls on Ash Wednesday. I’m so glad I like fish and shellfish! Friday we are going out and I’m ordering abalone which is my favorite shellfish which I haven’t had since I was in my early twenties.

Today I am just going to think about as many pleasant things I can, and write a poem or two. Try to send out 1 or 2 packages of poems. Today I owe it to myself to be calm and surrounded by good thoughts.

In Trump’s Cuts to Aid and Refugees, a Clash Over Christian Values Vice President JD Vance and the Pope square off, as faith-based groups face an existential crisis.

These organizations (and Lutherans too) have received 70% of their aid work funding from USAID. They are now having to cut all their programs because they must lay off most of their staff (remember Bush’s initiative to provide Christian churches funding for humanitarian overseas aid?).

Musk also cut aid to disabled vets. I think, not sure though,?that also was USAID funding.

USAID funds went to World Vision, a conservative Evangelical church that has the mission to provide humanitarian aid to the world, and to Catholic Relief Services, a middle of th he political world, organization which provided humanitarian aid and relief to peopling dangerously unstable locations.

Please share even if you don’t belong to any church. Vance has gutted his Christian base:

The more practical thing is to hurt Musk, Trump and their supporters in the pocket book. I divested from Twitter before Musk, but I notice Shell gave a huge amount of money to Trump’s campaign.
The bigger issue is Microsoft if WORD is part of Microsoft and I think it is.

I’m going to a protest rally at the Capitol at 12. I can’t stay long—I have a zoom poetry workshop at 3, but need to show up. Protest rallies (Program 2025) do nothing really, especially in a very blue city, county, state. Still, they will occur all over the 50 states so I need to show up.
