💡 In older adults, deprescribing benzodiazepines is associated with a reduced mortality risk (-41%) 6 months post-hospitalisation.

Those RXed BZDs at discharge had a x1.64 higher risk of all-cause mortality than BZD non-users.

1/ 🚨 New study alert! 🚨 Excited to share GEDG's latest on managing severe agitation in older adults. Antipsychotics or sedatives can lead to serious adverse events. Benzodiazepines, especially midazolam, pose the highest risk. Quetiapine shows fewer adverse events.
