So excited to officially launch recruitment for my community-engaged pilot study funded by @embracecenter.bsky.social focused on interoception, sleep, and Black maternal mental health! Please share with your networks if you can!
Recently, Angela Y. Davis said, “The courage comes from a collective sense of strength. As one person, we can do very little. But as hundreds and thousands and millions of people, we can change the world.”
Expecting some passionate discourse around these recommendations for use/avoidance of causal terminology...
Lots of talk abt how to repair the fracture between science & the public and build trust.
The best place to start?
Take a stand against tyranny… not because your grant got canceled, but because you’ve read a history book & you know what happens when govt misuses science against the public.

We outline research challenges, offer self-reflection prompts, and identify directions for more equitable assessment. With a brilliant team of clinical scientists: @alparkphd.bsky.social @sheilacrowell.bsky.social (and our not-on-bluesky co-authors, Simone Mendes, Natalie Dunn, and Steven Nicosia)

Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license.
This is pure cruelty.

Perspective:
Open-ended responses can improve ESM data by grounding it in real-world experiences and phenomena as they are experienced in everyday life. Handbooks and guidelines on ESM should include sections on collecting and analyzing open-ended text items.

Mt Sinai has followed NYU Langone in blatantly violating NY state and NYC law by stopping provision of gender affirming care to trans youth.
Seriously, what are @mayor.nyc.gov, @newyorkstateag.bsky.social, and @governor.ny.gov going to do about this?

3/ When the "activists" speak up, we take on very real risk. And that risk benefits all scientists.
Keeping your head down while asking others to speak is protecting yourself while others take the risk.
This is reasonable for those already in high risk positions...
4/ ...people from marginalized communities, early career folks (who ironically seem to be the most vocal, perhaps because its their future at risk), single parents who might not be able to feed their kids if they lose work, and others who experience disproportionate risk from speaking up.
Congratulations!!!
Thank you!!! Congratulations to you too! 🎊
What a crazy process...
I'm headed to Weill Cornell Medicine for internship! 🗽
Same!! I also track my time and found that the applications took about ~21% of my working time. It was a lot of work, and manageable!

Given this social and political climate, I can't begin to explain what Bad Bunny's show meant to a lot of us—a celebration of being Latinx in America

Do individual differences in fetal physiology shape later sensitivity to early environments? Excited to share our new paper: interactions between fetal heart rate variability and postnatal parenting stress were associated with toddler externalizing behaviors!

Things are dark and hard right now for many. I found this really wonderful website and I wanted to share.
People write beautiful letters for others who need some TLC and to be reminded why the world needs them.
Enjoy and please share widely.

This is a really detailed and extensive report.
tldr - immigrants' fiscal impact is so positive that it would be absolutely foolish to adopt anti-immigrant policies (which of course this administration is doing bc of racism)
Yesterday, you all sent over 800 letters to House Reps calling on them to co-sponsor articles of impeachment against RFK Jr.!!! Here's a heat map (since you dorks like data lol).
