I pulled off to the side of the road to photograph the valley, surrounding mountains and clouds in the sky. The valley is a golden brow with patches of sunlight. The mountains are under the clouds' shadow. The sky is bright blue with the puffy, yet dark clouds.

Standing on a summit from Hwy 395 overlooking Mono Lake in California. The photo was taken in winter, and there is patches of snow on the mountains and valley. Highway 395 can be seen below, heading to the right side of Mono Lake. There are dramatic clouds with a few patches of blue sky, creating occasional sunny spots on the valley below.

Pastoruri Glacier's icy expanse mirrors in its meltwater lake. Jagged dark rocks contrast with the bright white ice and blue sky.

High in the rugged Andes, two women dressed in traditional Peruvian clothing, sit on a rocky slope. Jagged snow covered mountains watching silently behind them under a cloudy sky.

The towering Cliffs of Moher, crowned with lush green vegetation, overlook the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean under a partly cloudy sky.

Pink flamingos wade in the shallow, mineral-rich waters of the “Smelly Lake” (Laguna Hedionda, Bolivia). One flamingo stretches its neck high, while another searches for food with its head in the water, all under a clear blue sky and with a large mountain in the distance.

It is staggering that a few evil men — mere fleeting shadows in Earth’s vast & beautiful story, are dead set on dismantling its fragile balance & harmony for selfish ends.

A large whitish-tan cow stands in middle of the access road up the mountain. A smaller black cow stands next to her, and both are looking at me. The black cow has horns starting to grow, so they are still quite small. There are hills in the background.

I managed to walk past the cows and the big one stayed in place while the black one peeked around the back of the large cow. They are still standing in the middle of the road. Green grass is growing on the hillside and a partial view of a larger mountain can be seen behind the hill.

Lots of cows on the trail today. These two were blocking the way, but I managed to slowly walk around. The little horns on the black cow are so cute!

A large taupe-colored cow is lying on the grass and a much smaller cow is lying nearby, not moving.

I walked past the cows and saw that mama cow was extremely full of milk! The calf is still lying next to her. There are a couple other cows in the background.

The calf is now standing, looking kind of wobbly and thin. Mama is still lying down on the grass. I was happy to see that the calf appeared OK.

A cow saga. I came upon these cows and wondered if the little one had just been born and whether it was OK. It wasn't moving but breathing heavily. As I walked past, he got up. I sure hope he went to eat because poor mama is about to pop!
