Who will be brave enough to sponsor legislation that taxes billionaires?

True for some
“Work, in this community, is judged not by the money it generates but by the people it serves. In a workist culture that believes dignity is grounded in accomplishment, simply reclaiming this alternative form of dignity becomes a radical act.”

“This miserable political moment …will end when our politicians — especially Christian politicians — forsake cruelty for compassion and realize that we shall know Christians in politics not by their stridency and ideology, but by their integrity and love.”

“If your heart is breaking as you watch what’s happening to our beloved country, it means you still have a heart.”

I suggest a law that requires all legislators (or presidents) who vote for war are required to send one of their adult children or grandchildren into harm’s way.
For those who have forgotten the past 40 years:
Tax cuts for the rich
...don’t trickle down
Boosting military spending
...doesn’t bring peace
Slashing regulations
...doesn’t create jobs
Folks, we’ve seen this all before.
Raskin: Based on what you know today, were Renee Good and Alex Pretti domestic terrorists?
Noem: What happened was an absolute tragedy.
Raskin: Were they domestic terrorists?
Noem: My condolences to their families
Raskin: You lied about them.
Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.

Would someone please impeach this ridiculous person?

“Nearly everyone I spoke with for this story told me that their public efforts to get the files released have made them fear for their safety.”

"In Chicago, of 92 people arrested for assaulting or impeding officers last fall, 74 cases have resulted in no charges; in 13 cases, charges were filed and dismissed; and five charged cases were still pending *** As of the end of January, there have been no convictions."
I love Rep Crockett but this is a weird post. The degree for ordination in most denominations is a Masters Degree in Divinity. Not a church-state thing. Not a church-state thing to have a preacher in the family or speak authentically about one’s faith, whether you’re Jewish, Muslim, whatever.
We do not want your private ICE prisons in North Carolina!
No where.
Not now.
Not ever!

@jamestalarico.bsky.social: I’m proud to endorse my friend, Gina Hinojosa, for Governor of Texas. I’ve seen her courage, her integrity, and her passion up close. Together we’ve fought to deliver for working families.
Texans deserve a fighter like @ginafortexas.bsky.social in the Governor’s Mansion.
"The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little."
—FDR, 1937
Call!
Please all your Senators to demand that Jeremy Carl never be confirmed to serve in the US State Department or any other role representing the US. He is -clearly from his own words- an antisemitic, racist person totally ignorant of our history and our reality.

Thank you David Brooks. “I also believe in epistemological modesty,”. It’s essential for navigating in this divided and twisted world.

Narrator: "He lost the popular vote in 2016 by about 2.9 million votes."
I don’t care who leads “the medal count.” #Olympics

“Christianity took the Jewish God, who cared for the weak and knew the difference between good and evil, and made his message universal. It taught that all humans are God’s creation. Even more than that: the weak are closer to God than the rich and the powerful.”

Team USA Curler Rich Ruohonen:
"We'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention what's going on in Minnesota...I am a lawyer, as you know, and we have a constitution... and what's happening in Minnesota is wrong. There's no shades of gray. It's clear."
