When I was 6, my class painted recreations of Gustav Klimt's Beech Forest I. We got to name ours and my 'best friend' stole my idea cos she was in the queue before me. I made it into the local paper and the school asked me to make another copy for them to keep. Get shit on, Kirsty.

A medieval grassy courtyard of warm and light coloured stone. A low row of repeating buttressed gothic openings with fine Perpendicular stone tracery is topped by a series of other structures with various square and rectangular windows.

A medieval gothic vaulted cloister range looking towards a distant pointed door. The walls on the right are flat and solid, while on the left is a series of openings with fine stonework letting through pointed rectangular blocks of light down the range. Each section is vaulted with criss-crossing ribs joined by coloured carved bosses.

The interior of a vast Gothick hall with an arched roof. At the far end of the hall is a dark wooden pointed door in a decorative stone surround. On the wall surrounding it are many niches with pointed protruding bases and canopies, in which stand a series of statue figures. Light enters the room from a large window on the left.

The exterior of a large stone building with open battlements, and a very large central oriel window broken up into sets of 8 panels, also topped with battlements. A large buttress protrudes from beside it, and a large octagonal tower stands off to the right. In front of the house is green grass and a gravel path.

Late 00's DeviantArt did a number on my impressionable child brain. I thought if it didn't come straight out of my head then I was cheating. Took me til I was 19-20 to unlearn and realise I can use references and it wasn't stealing to apply things I liked from other artists 😂
