I think it’ll take at least 3 years to make playoffs - 5 to get to a World Series. Brewers, Cubs are tough & Reds are getting closer. Gonna be hard to win the central the next few seasons. Wild card helps to reach the playoffs but doubt anyone is making the World Series going that route nowadays.

So true, this whole mess goes well beyond Oli even before he became the manager, until they fix all the imbalances from top to bottom throughout the entire org might as well keep him around, I can’t imagine many qualified managers wanting to take his place at this point in time.

Why would the Cardinals fire Oli during a rebuild? His pay is cheaper than most managers & they aren’t winning in the next few years, but the first season they get close to sniffing the playoffs & miss, he’ll be gone the following season. He’s just the interim during the rebuilding process #StLCards
