That’ll be the attack with the second most open play goals in the Premier League this season?

Arsenal's Mikel Arteta reveals fix for Premier League set pieces: 'Biggest issue is man-to-man' defense Arteta explained his belief that man-to-man marking is what's leading teams to rely on set pieces to score goals

The most Wengerian press conference I can remember from Mikel Arteta for a while. Surprisingly open about why Arsenal have somewhat gravitated to dead balls and glowing in his assessment of the Premier League.

He's clearly right on the lattter.

Yeah but what would you have had me do, use meat wall in a press conference?

I asked Arteta, after some very good questions from Art de Roche, about whether he worries that the inswinging corners that everyone is picking up on might "break" the game. I really liked the answer.

Arsenal news update
- No fresh injuries from Leverkusen and very little update on Trossard and Odegaard
- Arteta appreciates contact from Hurzeler, "it says positive things about him" that he apologised
- He was *glowing* about Newcastle performance against Barcelona

Jurrien Timber had as many penalty box touches (four) as any player on the pitch tonight. The strange thing about that? Arsenal have been doing this all season long.

Arsenal's full back averages more box touches than Odegaard, Rice, Merino, Eze.

This is a lengthy slump for Erling Haaland. No shots tonight for the first time in a UCL game with City. More pertinently it's also the 2nd time in 2026 that he has played 90 and struck out. That isn't supposed to happen to Haaland.

(Ignore the axis weirdness at start of 25-26)

A farewell six years late: Arsenal's Kai Havertz finally gets his Leverkusen goodbye in Champions League clash Havertz makes his return to Leverkusen on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League with Arsenal

They really value Kai Havertz at Bayer Leverkusen. It’s fair to say the feeling is mutual. When he was moving to Arsenal, Havertz was in touch with his old academy mentors to plan out his development.

On a player returning at exactly the right moment

Tottenham have become the team you can't look away from as downward spiral continues with UCL blowout loss Spurs were crushed by Atletico Madrid 5-2 in the Champions League, they are dangerously close to being relegated from the Premier League, and nothing is going right

I was supposed to be on Newcastle watch tonight. That's one of the problems with Spurs right now, they're attracting an awful lot of rubberneckers. You rearrange your schedule because this is can't miss TV.

The longer you watch though, the more pitiful (in both senses of the word) it all becomes.

Obviously it backfired but you can understand why Tudor gambled on Kinsky given Vicario's form.

What I can't get is the basic absence of emotional intelligence and even common courtesy in just ignoring a heartbroken young man who you've thrust into such trying circumstances.

This would be a better act of snark if it were the first time I'd posted a Tudor joke. As is you just come across as a bit of an obnoxious clever clogs.

I mean the whole eurgh everyone's making the same joke schtick is a bit 6th Form common room.

Champions League burning questions: Six English teams in the quarterfinals? Can Man City, Chelsea Spurs win? While Arsenal and Liverpool are heavy favorites to advance, the rest of England's sides have difficult fights on their hands

Could six Premier League teams advance to the quarterfinals? And if so is that an existential problem for the Champions League?

Written reasoning in the case says that the FA did not propose a playing sanction. Rodri had accepted the charge and in his letter to the commission said: "I wish to make clear that I did not intend to imply bias or question the integrity of the match officials."

Rodri has been fined £80,000 for his comments about referees after the draw with Tottenham on February 1. No suspension.

Arsenal, 'The Intolerables': Why no one wants Mikel Arteta's side to win the Premier League title The Gunners find themselves seven points clear of City and potentially a short time away from winning their first Premier League crown in over 20 years,

Last night crystallised the burgeoning sense that it isn't just their rivals, everyone hates Arsenal. But why?

The stories that are being told about the leaders, even by opposition managers, just don't stand up to much analysis.
