There's lots of blame to go around but nothing explains or excuses 77 million people looking at Trump and saying "yeah, that's my guy."

Old guard does need to stay in the back (I don't think they could be out front if they wanted to). But unless they're going to Mara Lago or getting chummy with Bannon, I just don't think we have the luxury of shutting anyone out.

Lots of people are. The Trump sanewashers among others. Yeah, Biden won't be much help if any. But is that really the most important thing to dwell on? More leaders need to step up, not fewer.
