Quite the broad brush to describe people-that broad brush I was using to contrast overall tones bt the books-which I try to avoid doing w ppl. Cause they get mad. And people are complicated. You might be dealing with bad people but any "theologian" knows there is >1 interpretation of scripture.

Of course there are many Jewish texts giving instructions for how to be good people. I know being good to others is a primary teaching in Judaism.

Coming from biblical scholar parents & a Jewish g'parent, there has never been an issue to note the historical context *of the books* including that they may in part be misinterpreted in translation.

1/3 Of course there is. My comment was about just those 2 books, not about ppl. No expert but I've read & studied both books many times in the past. I wasn't attaching Judaism (or later born Islam) to comment about the tonal change of religious emphasis in the New Testament compared to OT
