Eh, whatevs. I’m too high to further debate the exact retcon issues of the fallout series so I’ll just take your word for it I guess.

But that’s the thing with the Enclave in 3, it’s not that they said “secretly the whole organization survived”, it’s like the same with NV. The Enclave on the oil rig was destroyed in Fallout 2 but there were still members in places like Chicago, Appalachia, and ofc the Mojave.

That’s not me defending other games tho, none of the writing in any of the games makes sense, but mfs need to stop taking it so damn seriously all the time and hate on one thing while doing mental gymnastics to justify shit in the other games.

I’ll just say this, FNV used to be my second favorite game hands down, but now it’s become one of my least favorite games in the series because of the people who treat the games writing like a messiah. You’re a mailman who gets shot and lives and takes over Vegas? The writing makes no sense.

The mental gymnastics of the majority of fallout fans never ceases to amaze me.

Don’t put this all on Fallout 3, New Vegas has the same issue with reusing factions. They bring back the Enclave and Brotherhood as well.

Dude what…? I know what media literacy is, but I can also tell when a piece of media doesn’t require you to overanalyze it too much. There’s so many plot holes in the fallout series if you really stop to look at it but doing so is just going to ruin the experience.

It’s just seems somewhat random how the guy you hire to deliver your mail ends up becoming your right hand man all of a sudden in order to take control of the Mojave (from Mr House’s perspective anyway). Am I missing something here? Genuine question.

The point is that none of the games have “good writing”, they’re all zany and wacky and you tend to have a lot more fun with the series when you stop overthinking it too much.

I really don’t understand how the writing in NV is so much more better in any regard. I mean the whole plot is just angry mailman wants revenge and overthrows Vegas in the process (also a hell of a jump to make too if you wanna talk about issues with writing, like how tf does one get to that point?)

I didn’t say it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, it’s just that the point of the fallout series is that it’s known for having weird writing in every installment. Maybe OG Fo1 is the exception with it being earlier in the series, but there’s no game in Fallout that has decent writing by this logic

Fallout 3 is peak and I won’t hear otherwise. If an obsidian fanboy starts complaining, I just remind them that the writing for thier favorite game revolves around an angry mailman getting shot in the head. Fallout was never meant to be taken too seriously, just chill out lol
