Glad they appealed.
The burden of proof’s on the Crown and sadly, the first judge didn’t think they met that requirement. Doesn’t change the fact that DF is a complete curmudgeon for going after the kids and uttering veiled/double meaning statements to them. What type of person does this to kids?
I always saw “Kill” as Trek’s take on “24”.
Especially when the chapters had the hours displayed. :)
“Heal”? Definitely Tom Clancy. But also one of the best books I’ve ever read. A-1 awesome
Don’t know if I’ve ever seen a Canadian government steadily relax and ease accountability/transparency laws like Danielle Smith and UCP have. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
My last hope is that this is the LAST time the powers that be in the LPC decide it’s a good idea to try and install dynasties into government. The hubris on display right now is atrocious & was 100% preventable. No more kingmakers. Support good people. Elect good people.
Avoiding a costly and meaningless election will allow both the NDP and LPC to get their shit together while also ensuring the CPC do not run amok with poor policy that will hurt us more than help. It’s the stable option & should be considered.
I’m not a fan of Pierre Poilievre, and sure as hell not a fan of what he represents. HOWEVER, the last thing we need is to be in the midst of an election while DJT is sworn in as POTUS. We need stability, and while I’m loathe to admit it, the CPC is stable.
So given the bombshells in Ottawa today, I’m personally of the opinion that if the Prime Minister does not have the confidence of the House or his own cabinet, he needs to go. But in the case of this minority gov’t, the GG can ask if the Official Opposition can earn the confidence & form gov’t.
I get that people are frustrated with the mail strike. I am too. But I also believe in the right to strike and resolve this without needing arbitration. The Federal Government threatening return to work legislation makes them hypocrites & personally, sealed their fate in the next fed election.
For people who love to cry out “tough it out and stand up to bullies”, it’s pretty rich watching them crumble like sand when the shoe’s on the other foot. Guess there’s plenty of leaders in Alberta & Canada who want to kiss the ring or ass of a bully with hopes they’re spared. How pathetic.
Thank you for all your service for all these years. You truly left an amazing mark on our province, and I’m truly honoured to know you. Keep up the great work you do in your new pursuits.
This is how you protect against rising populism.

Indeed they are. I absolutely love them,
Re Biden’s pardon
The Right owns a narrative about what the Left “does” while in government.
That we’re crazy socialists who want to give “communist” healthcare to the masses, push “woke” ideology to children or that we give free “safe” drugs to addicts.
I say fuck it, own it & let’s just do it.
The balance is to preserve liberal democracy while recognizing that “rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them, and, well, that isn’t our present reality.” - @roxanegay.bsky.social
~Industry not consulted on Alberta's plan to challenge federal emissions cap
It seems some of the industry is in support of Smith's plan while others are unsure.

When workers go on strike, show your support. Don't assume they should be grateful to have a job, consider this: CEOs and execs don’t need millions in bonuses and inflated salaries. Without workers, there’s no business.
Stand up for workers' rights and recognize their worth!!!
An interesting read by the president of the CUPW breaking down why the union is standing up to Canada Post. Definitely worth your time to read. There’s a lot more nuance here than what has been reported. socialistproject.ca/2024/11/cupw...
The worst feeling ever. The struggle is real. I hope it wasn’t too terrible today.

Stephen Harper is now in charge of investing Albertans’ public sector pensions.
And Heritage Fund.
We are all better off if $170 billion is stewarded by folks without blazing political opinions. It’s not in the public interest for any of this to be politicized. #ableg

Want to defeat the UCP? Here's your first chance. Either we all pitch in to support the NDP candidate, @robmiyashiro.bsky.social , or the UCP strengthens their caucus with another MLA. This is the first real battle in the fight to 2027. #ableg #abpoli lethbridgenewsnow.com/2024/11/20/l...

Tommy was the greatest Canadian for many reasons. Conservatives have used money to manipulate Canadians since Confederation, we must stop them, Ontario has 250,000 homeless people because of Conservatives. We cannot abandon people because they are poor! Pierre must be stopped!
The Lethbridge-West by-election has been called!
The only candidate that will focus on the issues that matter most to the people of Lethbridge - healthcare and affordability - is @robmiyashiro.bsky.social.
Lethbridge is his home. It’s your home. It deserves better.
And better is possible. 🧡
Scurvy, people. SCURVY.
WOW.
This is big. This is bold. And, given everything, these warrants must be served.
