Researchers have identified a pale version in the UK (𝘎. 𝘢𝘭𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘶𝘴) and three grey versions in North America (𝘎. 𝘧𝘶𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘶𝘴, 𝘎. 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘧𝘶𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘶𝘴 and 𝘎. 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘶𝘴) that are genetically unique.

Researchers have identified 𝘖𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘺𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘢, a multi-branched fungus that infects caterpillars, alongside a new helper fungus named 𝘓𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘩𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘪.
