Had this experience as well of bad buffet food but Michael Davidson took us to a Beijing restaurant in upscale mall that was amazing. Plus visited a dumpling place that I had first visited 10 years that did not disappoint.

I'd welcome any readings from folks who know the geographic distribution of military manufacturing in Iran...

But, the risk is that if this persists and that more sites have to be bombed to achieve these aims, then Iran gets the Gaza treatment (but over a far larger geographic area) with a far greater population. To the extent these facilities are located near major population centers, could get real bad.

Maybe they think they're done if they take out all the known missile/drone manufacturing sites. Unclear how heavy a lift that actually but sounds like it might require several more weeks of bombing to realize.

I've been trying to understand both what motivates the administration and what they think they are trying to achieve and how they'd know if they were successful.

This motivation to take out the conventional missile sites is consistent with the Republican critique of the JCPOA that the JCPOA didn't impinge on Iran's non-nuclear capacities and that Iran was up to no good by spreading missile and other tech to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Seems like Trump/Rubio decided that conventional missile/drone capabilities of Iran had to be taken out so they've bombed some 1,000 sites across the country. How well-targeted and delimited are these strikes? We know a school was hit. How insulated is the wider Iranian public from these strikes?

I guess that might be the least bad outcome at this point.

We made progress over last 25 years but haven't really moved towards country ownership but have tortured countries with competing systems from donors.

Other countries were folding in developing assistance into Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

That was before the United States took action as other states were cutting aid dramatically.
