I believe it. I think this was the dumpling place which is not fancy but great. www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_R...

Had this experience as well of bad buffet food but Michael Davidson took us to a Beijing restaurant in upscale mall that was amazing. Plus visited a dumpling place that I had first visited 10 years that did not disappoint.

Trump aides struggle with how to spend $500 billion more on military Some senior officials resisted the decision to approve the major military spending increase, people familiar with the matter said.

Well, they already had $500 billion they were going to have trouble spending. I canceled my subscription but you get the idea... www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Marco Rubio on Capitol Hill: 'Hardest Hits Yet To Come' Against Iran Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended preemptive U.S. strikes on Iran’s missile and naval capabilities, confirmed 6 U.S. service members have been killed in action and warned that the β€œhardest hits ...

Here is where I get what I think the administration thinks its goals are. I don't think the nuclear piece is all that important, and I wonder if they did in fact get most of those facilities the previous round...

I'd welcome any readings from folks who know the geographic distribution of military manufacturing in Iran...

But, the risk is that if this persists and that more sites have to be bombed to achieve these aims, then Iran gets the Gaza treatment (but over a far larger geographic area) with a far greater population. To the extent these facilities are located near major population centers, could get real bad.

03.03.2026 05:38 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe they think they're done if they take out all the known missile/drone manufacturing sites. Unclear how heavy a lift that actually but sounds like it might require several more weeks of bombing to realize.

I've been trying to understand both what motivates the administration and what they think they are trying to achieve and how they'd know if they were successful.

03.03.2026 05:35 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

This motivation to take out the conventional missile sites is consistent with the Republican critique of the JCPOA that the JCPOA didn't impinge on Iran's non-nuclear capacities and that Iran was up to no good by spreading missile and other tech to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Iran death toll reaches 555 as US, Israel escalate attacks Civilian deaths are growing as more attacks are reported in the capital and other parts of the country.

Some 500+ deaths, including school (180) + hospital. www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/...

Seems like Trump/Rubio decided that conventional missile/drone capabilities of Iran had to be taken out so they've bombed some 1,000 sites across the country. How well-targeted and delimited are these strikes? We know a school was hit. How insulated is the wider Iranian public from these strikes?

I guess that might be the least bad outcome at this point.

Trump administration drops suits against law firms after judges find president's orders unconstitutional Numerous judges have ruled against Trump's executive orders targeting certain law firms.

The security implications of this - if true - are terrifying...

A Telegraph hack has Trump's personal phone number - and Trump personally answers it when he calls?

Really?

What’s Next for Iran? Big Change Seems Certain, but Direction Is Unclear. Experts say that Iran’s clerical rulers may be too deeply entrenched for Iranians to topple them, and that the U.S. and Israeli strikes risk setting off deeper radicalization or violence.

President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made public appeals to Iran’s people, saying they've offered a historic opportunity to topple their authoritarian government. How they envision an unarmed population facing down a heavily armed, ideologically driven security force is less clear.
