The final day of our Math 100 celebration kicked off with opening remarks from UBC Dean of Science, Mark MacLachlan, and NSERC President, Alejandro Adem.
This was followed by two insightful historical presentations by Dr. George Bluman and Dr. James Carrell.
As part of the Math Buildingβs 100th anniversary, Professor Stephanie van Willigenburg hosted a special Krieger-Nelson Lunch & High Tea to celebrate the incredible women in our faculty whoβve received the Krieger-Nelson Prize β awarded annually to outstanding female mathematicians.β
