The Braves effectively having 0.0% playoff odds by the end of July is genuinely unthinkable in the first place.
Now their best player is hurt and they currently have one starting pitcher.
(editor's note: you need more than one starting pitcher)
everyone i talk to thinks he's going to golden state
if something broke down there, i could see it, but the role is bigger in GSW
he'd fit great with the hawks, overqualified for the role they have available but can play with any of JJ, OO, KP
I would need to do a bunch of research to confirm but, when taking preseason expectations into account...
I am fairly sure the 2025 Braves are (quite) high on the list of all-time Atlanta sports disaster seasons

I know folks are disappointed, but this was pretty much an expected outcome for today's game.
Bufkin, Newell, and ΔuriΕ‘iΔ all taking the floor for 4 full games is more than a lot of roster guys would play.
Obviously, the injuries for NDiaye and Toppin are unfortunate.

@williamslaurenl.bsky.social had news first.
As a reminder, he was a restricted FA and his qualifying offer was another Two-Way deal.
Two-Way slots are now full for the Hawks with Wallace, Jacob Toppin, and Eli Ndiaye.
Hawks forward Eli Ndiaye got the "best undrafted rookie" distinction in @kpelton.bsky.social's Summer League superlatives piece at ESPN.
(and yes, he only played one game)
