Bookscan data has only existed for about 20 years. Prior to that actual sales of any given title was not something anyone with a subscription could look up and base decisions on. So thats relatively new.

I had a momentary realization during my reading that perhaps I was also writing horror. Which can't possibly be true because I am a scaredy cat.

Got on stage last night and read the opening of the novel I'm currently working on. And realized mid-read that it's kind of gory. (By "kind of", I mean "very".) Fortunately, there is a lot of crossover between sci-fi and horror so the audience wasn't traumatized (I don't think).

They must have an established protocol for fountain pen incidents here, surely? 😂

100% - gotta put stuff out and see what happens! I particularly enjoy shooting for things that part of me thinks are way out of my league because sometimes I'm wrong and amazing things happen. :)
