One can imagine using the text as a convenient classroom aid in the study of religion, exegesis and #Islam and for Shii believers who are primarily anglophone a useful reference work for which the translator Alexander Khaleeli ought to be congratulated
It constitutes a simple and straightforward #Shii exegesis which is broadly #hadith based as one expects from his expertise and concise
The translation is nicely produced and retains the Quranic verses in Arabic as well as the citations of the verses in the main text in Red

In the field of Quranic exegesis #tafsir he wrote two works a longer al-Safi a #hadith based work with an important set of preliminaries on hermeneutics archive.org/details/Tafs...
He also wrote a number of works on the Sufi and Shii notion of the #perfect_human الإنسان الكامل such as Kalimat-e maknune philosophyar.net/marefat/31-o...
In his autobiographies one finds an increasing sceptical approach to Sufism and a turn to #hadith later identifying him as #akhbari

He studied philosophy with Mulla Sadra and hadith with Sayyid Majid Bahrani (d. 1618) in Shiraz, with Shaykh Baha’ al-Din Al-‘Amili (d. 1030/1621) the shaykh al-Islam of #Isfahan and received an #ijaza in #Mecca from Muhammad (d. 1030/1621) grandson of Shahid II and author of Ma’alim al-usul
Muhammad b. Murtada known as Muhsin with the #takhallus #Fayd was born in Kashan in 1007/1598. His grandfather may have been a #Sufi master and may even have been a spiritual director of his father-in-law the famous thinker Mulla Sadra Shirazi (d. 1045/1636)
Muhsin Fayd Kashani was one of the leading scholars of the #Safavid period in #hadith #philosophy #hikma #Quranic_exegesis and a translation of his Al-Asfa has just appeared with #ICAS_Press in London
In a globalising world I guess what we also need is input from other types of #English writing to enrich the process - and even consider how such advice works in other languages
