Anecdotal, but at the party I was at, there WAS a bit of "oh I know this from Tiktok" recognition, but that didn't translate into actually liking the performance 😬
Yeah it seems RM did pretty much what I guess the BBC hoped they would do which is play well for the juries (not quite OG3NE heights but Lucie Jones levels), but their gamble that the song (and its funky structure) would grab televoters didn't quite get there.
I know it's a tough comparison but I also wonder if RM could've done even better (at least with the juries) if there weren't another act featuring all-female harmonies
