The only one I got wrong is I put Houston above UConn, and I'm not ready to concede I'm wrong.
Thank you to everyone who rocked am MGoShirt tonight, but especially the one Dude.

What's Ron Groover's handle on RCMB I wonder.
Graphics for Senior Day. Tom Izzo said he wants to be told if we have a problem with the way any of his players act on the court, so please let him know what you think of Jeremy Fears.
Texas was already the "How are you even considering them?" team last year and that wasn't even the Texas team that had to bench its point guard for picking up four fouls in four minutes out of laziness in a critical road game. Should have been out on principle right there.
Usage as %ile among D-I players with an appropriate % of minutes. Big-ass bubble means a lot of usage. Michigan's weird in that everyone is about 1/5th.
Duke's Cam Boozer(+13.1 OBPM), and Maliq Brown (+8.8 DBPM) are the only guys breaking the scale to the positive. There are bunch of mid-major players under -4 on offense or -2 on defense but shouldn't be relevant unless M faces a surprise 16-seed in the Tourney.
Michigan had the outright Big Ten regular season crown wrapped up in February, but will have to play March without LJ Cason.
I made a change to the OBPM/DBPM charts. Rather than %rank I scaled the raw data. Scale goes from -4 to +10 for offense and -2 to +8 on defense. (edited)
Well look at me on my shit again.
(many stats, injuries seeds, etc. aren't updated--this is just getting it ready)
I've never been comfortable with statues. A bust would have you consider the man; a statue would have you consider the man a god.
But I also acknowledge some of that comes from my religious beliefs, and I find a judgment of faith outside of the faith FAR more repulsive than idolatry.
Nobody needs this explained either but the Bo statue is part of Dave Brandon's pro-amatuerism/pro-donors Michigan Man-ifesto, including (via Brandon's remarks at its dedication) the specious notion that both Willie Heston and Jake Ryan only played the game for fun.

1st Rule of Statues: Subtext isn't accidental. Pont Neuf Henry IV annoys Catholics. Houdon's Washington tells the living GW be like Cincinnatus/stay home. Lady Liberty is sticking it to reactionary Europe & Southern slavery. Immigrant-funded Cristo the Redeemer towers over Rio's secular oligarchs.
Just some more favs (thread)
Of all the ones I've done I think this is easily in the top three podcast covers. Credit to @marc-gregor.bsky.social who was the only Michigan photographer who could have gotten this shot.

I don't know the weights but it's best teams with the smallest lines with some conference hardware/rivalry/postseason considerations thrown in.
These do tend towards themes. Last year's CBB narrative was "Let's crash these monster SEC teams into each other and see what happens." This year it's Michigan vs Kaijus of the Week.
I screengrabbed the description in the skeet. It's basically "Biggest matchup at tipoff."

(It's probably just me and a few dozen other sportswriters that are regularly using FanMatch to know what games to be aware of each day but I'm eternally grateful for it).

I forgot to post the Illinois charts on Friday so here's a reminder of what they trounced.
They may have only made 11 first-half threes, but they've actually made 12 since the Michigan game ended
