Instead of wars, how about we make leaders go 1v1?

And if you happen to hear of a role, project, or organization that sounds like an uncanny match for my… very particular set of skills… I’m very open to being pointed in that direction.

Here’s the freshly semi-polished profile:

If we’ve worked together in any capacity—heritage, food, events, tech, governance, creative problem-solving, or general “figure it out under pressure” energy—and you’d be willing to leave a LinkedIn recommendation, I would be grateful. I assume that our AI overlords care about that sort of stuff…

Okay friends, it’s time to begin Phase Two of Operation: What’s Next.

I’ve officially dusted the cobwebs off my ancient LinkedIn profile and I’m asking for a little help from the hive mind.

I think the “nation building” projects turn that around in the next 18 months, as do the trade and other deals being made now. The rupture with the US is a big part of our current rough patch, I think.

I share your concerns about public service cuts, no question. And some of the “capitulation” to the US is to keep the lion at bay long enough that it gets distracted and we make more friends.

I have a lot of complex thoughts on AI, but I know that the countries that will benefit most from… let’s call it metatechnology… will be those with access to affordable (and sustainable) power. LLMs are a solution in search of a problem a lot of the time, but they will reshape whole economies.

I saw a list circulating recently of the trade, investment and cooperation deals Canada has completed in the last six months, and while each one might pass with a yawn, they present a heck of a picture of excellent risk management. The contrast with American foreign policy is stark.

Fairly assessing a decade of one’s own work is a fascinating enterprise. Take, for example, digital footprint—in this case, there is a single potential buyer, but a ton of opportunity cost.

How do you value these things?

I wish we still had an America that wielded the power of principles, instead of one that relishes in the naked principle of power.

Say it with me, friends: The ends don’t justify the means.

They never have, and never will. Allowing yourself to think otherwise is how you lose your soul and moral centre, piece by piece.

And dont loose sight if the fact that the problem is one of demand, not just supply. Maybe Trump should focus on investing in the social conditions and mental health issues that contribute to addiction to reduce America’s insatiable appetite for anguish-relief.

Fentanyl isn’t a weapon of mass destruction. It’s not a weapon. It does, however cause massive destruction.

Trump’s declaration that it’s a WMD to justify the use military force against a “weapon”, when there are many other tools to use.

Forget trans people in sports, we need to monitor spelling bees and math olympiads for Tylenol doping.

Isn’t that the very definition of unfair advantage?

On the upside, I can still go to work, and sit in a lovely garden with amazing wifi. ;)

The average lifespan is 76, but if you’ve lived through childhood, you’re very likely to exceed the average significantly. :)

Plus three coffees, assorted vitamins, kitty snuggles, multiple hugs and a mindful pause before the frenetic wave of all these steroids, hormones and stimulants hit me. :D
