How can we understand accelerating system transitions when security of supply, affordability & competitiveness move centre stage?

We argue transitions are increasingly pursued through industrial transformation, involving coordinated change across multiple sectors & interdependent value chains.

Low-carbon electrification is unfolding as a multi-system development block propelled by positive cross-system feedbacks. The speed and direction of electrification in any given place are shaped by the degree of local institutional mismatches (e.g., constetations, regulations, or justice issues).

This perspective above all demonstrates the importance of having a broad electrification strategy that is integrated with industrial and climate policy.
