Indeed - been using their FX since about 2008. They can also be installed in a few Korg synths too.

Yeah - they released a USB adapter to fix that, it’s too noisy without it.

Each option can be pretty unconventional but there are definitely some nice sounds in there. I’d recommend checking out some Plaits videos on YouTube (there’s loads of them!) to get a sense of what can be done with it sonically.

And sorry about the import stuff, that must really suck.

I’ve been tempted but while it sounds great, I’m just loving the sound of the Peak right now - it just seems to do so much right 😀

I do! Used on a couple of tracks now for very specific monosynth parts that its sound engines can deliver. I was very familiar with Plaits already so that helped - it’s essentially that module plus some useful options.

Maybe it’s the filter? It isn’t great, I tend to bypass and use Vult Freak.

Most synths onboard FX I can gladly just ignore but these two guys have ones that both sound fantastic and also feel like they’re engineered as a core part of the sound - rather than something just slapped on at the end of a signal chain #synths #synthsky

It really is, I can’t believe I sold my original one since as far as monosynths go, nothing I’ve used since is a powerful or just downright fun to use. Wish it had a noise source though - have been feeding it with this today and it works a treat…

Not sure why no one has made an editor for the excellent Dreadbox Typhon but having just re-acquired one I built something that works using Audaire Zenith - controlled here by a Nektar CS12 #synthsky
