I guess, looking for some kind of cold comfort to gnaw on, I tell myself we aren't going anywhere we haven't been before, and somehow escaped. Not to rationalize the horrible. Just to remind us that this situation isn't a final doom, though it might feel that way. Despair is not our friend.
