I can't decide if this is just Luxon's incompetence or if there is some brilliant right wing ploy to bury any future thought of legislating te tiriti for a generation. Possibly so they can pillage the land without te tiriti with legislative teeth getting in the way.

I find it interesting that this bill has a six month submission window while many other bills only have a matter of a week or two for consultation. -the fast track bill for example. This could be easily shut down by National if they really wanted.

Email to Christopher Luxon stating: Prime Minister Luxon, After your victory in the 2023 election, you stated that you "want[ed] to bring the country together" and that you would be a prime minister for all New Zealanders. Today, you refused to meet with the hīkoi at Parliament grounds, stating "I was open to [meeting hīkoi organizers] but the reality frankly is many of them are Te Pāti Māori-affiliated." I am seeking clarification regarding the Prime Minister's position with respect to meetings. Does he categorically refuse to meet with anyone "affiliated" with an opposition party, or does this only apply to the hīkoi? What level of relationship does he consider "affiliated"? Is it the Prime Minister's position that he will only meet with people who voted for him? Are prospective meeting attendees asked if they currently support the National Party? As Aotearoa New Zealand is a democracy, access to public officials is a matter of significant public interest. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this issue soon.
