Fantastic to start to hear from lawyers working with #PFAS affected communities in Belgium, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, France as well as Robert Billot who took on DuPont in US and started anti PFAS litigation

Itโs time to get tough with corporate lobbies, not peaceful protestors.
#PFAS producers & their allies who lobby to delay, weaken, or derail the proposed ban on PFAS have had huge access to the Commission & other EU decision-makers and itโs time for this to stop.
We need #ToxicFreePolitics now!
A short civil conversation took place & then 6 police vans arrived. And they arrested the corporate pollutersโฆ
Damn! That isn't what happened. 6 police vans turned up โฆ against peaceful protestors who just wanted to explain how #PFAS have polluted their communities & why they want an EU ban.
When we got to Chemours' office building, some citizens peacefully entered and requested to visit their office to drop off bottles of #PFAS beer, a symbol of the contamination that the citizens of Dordrecht in ๐ณ๐ฑ and elsewhere experience, day to day.
05.03.2026 13:50 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Then we took the community representatives on a lobby tour of ๐ช๐บ quarter to show how #PFAS corporate lobby operates in Brussels: its access to decision-makers, and how some have relied upon โmisleading, fearmongering, exaggerated, or potentially dishonestโ lobbying, as #ForeverLobbying Project showed
05.03.2026 13:50 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Even though President von der Leyen is happy to meet with CEFIC & chemicals industry in Antwerp to tell them how she is delivering on their agenda, it seems like she has no time to meet people living day-to-day with impacts of #PFAS pollution.

Corporate lobbyists in Brussels have a playbook.
4 tactics they use to shape EU laws without us noticing:
1๏ธโฃ Repeat until it sounds like consensus
2๏ธโฃ Throw money at it
3๏ธโฃ Blur the lines between regulator and regulated
4๏ธโฃ Delay, distract, greenwash
The more we know it, the less we fall for it!
