This half term, Year 1 have been learning all about Islam. They explored the celebration of Eid, decorated dates (and sampled them!) and enjoyed a visit to a local mosque to learn more about how Muslims worship.

Wishing a blessed Ramadan to all who are observing from our little ones! πŸŒ™

On Thursday, Year 4 brought the world to the stage with their Cultural Assembly.

We had energetic dandiya, dabke, poetry from around the globe and the most beautiful singing. The assembly was a powerful reminder that every culture, every story and every voice matters.

Our New Year’s Fair was a wonderful showcase of our school’s community spirit. With activities including bouncy castles, henna, food stalls and a raffle, there was plenty to enjoy - all while raising funds for the school’s hardship fund.

Thank you to all those who helped make the day a success. ✨

On Friday, 6CH and 6K visited Redbridge Drama Centre to watch a powerful play exploring the persecution of Jewish people during WWII.

It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on history and deepen understanding of empathy and remembrance.

Pyjamas, warm hot chocolate, tasty biscuits, fairy lights and crackling fireplaces set the scene as our children and families enjoyed wonderful stories at our annual Bedtime Stories event.

With libraries facing cuts nationwide, we were proud to welcome published author @vaseemkhanuk.bsky.social, a former pupil, who shared how his local library inspired his love of reading and writing and why protecting libraries matters for future generations.

It was truly inspiring for our students.

This term, we have launched our Equalities & Inclusion Charter, which provides a shared language which guides how we treat one another.

It sits alongside our 5Cs: Care, Confidence, Character, Challenge & Creativity.

More to come as we continue to embed this exciting new chapter at Elmhurst. 🌟
