all of the above & additionally he is responding like a person who has never actually been challenged about his views before
Really bleak, I’m so sorry
"Daniel 'Des' Sanchez is accused of transporting a box that contained 'Antifa materials.'"
"But the boxed materials aren't Molotov cocktails, pipe bombs."
"[T]hey were zines and pamphlets."

I really wanted to know more about Renee Good, killed by ICE in January. Fortunately, my editor allowed me to take some time to do a deep dive into who she was before she died. Read and listen to what I found out about her from her Colorado tribe here: www.cpr.org/2026/03/11/r...
i was just looking at the conference website 😭 so ridiculous
"We prefer our white pro-genocide members to our brown anti-genocide members" is all they had to write.
So @asanews.bsky.social emailed its membership its refusal to put a petition to Boycott, Divest, & Sanction Israel up to a vote, one that already had 438 signatures. This undemocratic decision, they wrote, is because they're worried about membership dropping.
Well do I have news for you.
(maybe “unprecedented” is the wrong word here, since the court relied on verbatim precedent saying trans ppl are not a protected class)
"intent to discriminate" doctrine can't protect against a state apparatus hell-bent on annihilating whole populations. it has always been fodder for right wing jurisprudence
people will die & by this ruling's logic, any resulting deaths are coincidental instead of calculated state-sanctioned murders
A DOGE staffer assigned to the National Endowment for the Humanities to flag grants for "DEI" tries to explain what "DEI" is. This deposition is part of a lawsuit by the @acls1919.bsky.social, @historians.org and @modernlanguage.bsky.social.
“I need you on the outside to join us in this fight. Not to reform our cages. Not to make our suffering slightly more comfortable. But to tear this whole damn system down and build something actually life-giving in its place.” kwanetaharris.substack.com/p/we-cant-wa...
Florida’s Board of Governors is made up of “political appointees from the business world, from insurance executives to roofing contractors, who are dictating how professors must teach their courses and even providing state-created textbooks for doing so.”
My new piece in @truthout.bsky.social
🧵 Trump administration AI policy is widely described as deregulatory. This description is misleading. What's happening is not the absence of governance but its rearrangement--intensive state intervention operating through mechanisms we don't typically call regulation. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
According to PEW, teens in households making under $75K are more likely to use chatbots for help with all or most schoolwork. I read a comment on another platform that said this is amazing news because we are "finally going to close the achievement gap." That is not how I would interpret this data.
Congrats to @ncaaup.bsky.social & all who fought against this surveillance policy that would've allowed admin to hijack microphones in the classroom for secret recordings.
This move would've chilled classroom discussion & suppressed students' willingness to ask questions & take intellectual risks.
UNC Board OKs Definition of What Academic Freedom Is, and Isn’t
The university system dropped proposed language saying teaching “clearly unrelated to the course description” wouldn’t be protected. The @aaup.org remained opposed. https://bit.ly/4aUmuMp
