Took me a bit to find out what it's actually called: hand tiller, twist tiller, claw tiller, or hand cultivator, apparently. For breaking up/aerating soil. Never used for its intended purpose, but works well on ice. No overhead swinging like a pickaxe, either, although I wish we had both!

a garden twist tiller tool, a metal implement about three feet tall, with handles on top and spiked prongs on the bottom
We found one of these tiller tools in the back of the garage. It worked well at jabbing into the ice and then twisting it to break the ice up.

I can imagine scenarios where that's plausible (maybe she's there with work friends!) but it definitely makes the whole thing more confusing.

I was looking something up in a guide for Microsoft Word, and I think it's a little *too* basic. It had a line like "The space bar is the long horizontal piece at the bottom of the keyboard. Press it to insert a space after a word or punctuation."
