It's been ages since I - or any of us, as far as I know - has been drawing regularly, but I'm not sure I've ever done a direct side by side showing the differences between the anthro version of our main fursona, Acetyl, and its original feral dragon form, called Drrkhn by its own kind. #furryart

Okay we need advice from People Who Know Things, unlike ourselves. Dr. Hunt wants us to start massaging the incision scars and applying some kind of vitamin E or aloe lotion. But no one in this system knows a damn thing about that stuff. We've literally never bought a lotion before.

Yeah, pretty much. I don't think it even went into the vein directly so much as just the needle went totally through it and put the puddle of T oil on the other side. I'm sure a bit got in before the hole sealed but even the annoying stinging cleared up within an hour or so. No biggie. -D.

We do controlled burns all the time here in Plumas. No idea why it's not more common. -D.

But when I pulled the needle out the hole ran blood for a few seconds, not just a tiny droplet or nothing like normal. Then it began to sting more in random pulses, going down our upper leg past the site. Must have stabbed a vein going by or something. It's not serious pain but it's annoying. -D.

Owww. Kind of fucked up T injection this time. All seemed normal at first - no blood in pullback, all that stuff - and it only stung a bit going in. No sensation to a teeny bit of sting is normal.

From anyone else that kind of attitude would be annoying. But because he's a surgeon, I didn't even register it at the time. (By surgeon standards he's actually rather warm and friendly, honestly, but still. Heh.) -X.

I just realized something that's kind of funny. When we saw Dr. Hunt, he of course asked to examine the incisions. When he saw them he exclaimed, "Oh, look at you!" In retrospect he used the exact same tone that I often do when talking to a plant that's doing exceptionally well.

Even out here where wildfires produce mostly "just" wood smoke, a lot of toxic gases and etc. are released when all that matter burns, especially when it does get people's homes and stuff. The fumes from LA proper burning are going to be indescribably dangerous. Any help is better than nothing. -D.

Good idea. It's more the gases and other stuff that's so small it gets right through the material, but that would certainly help with particulate matter. A real N95 will do a better job, but it's not perfect. That's one thing that's horrible about these fires as a public safety matter. The gases.

Exceedingly. The weather is already way outside its historical patterns and it's only going to get worse. We were thinking about where we could move to be safer, but the reality is there's nowhere to go that isn't either equally at risk of fire or some other major issue like hurricanes.

Just ordered some new toys and a bag of treats on Chewy for the girls. Comfort shopping but for rats instead of oneself. It's a lot less expensive at least. -D.

I mean yeah but COVID masks mostly don't help with fire smoke. Not enough anyhow. Enough bad shit gets through to make you miserable still. Went through this in the Dixie Fire. Not that it isn't worth wearing them - we certainly did/do regardless - but smoke sucks that way. -D.
