I don’t think it is. It’s not love in the same form as romantic love … but to care for someone you need kindness, tenderness and compassion.
Love for ourselves and our colleagues is also part of being part of a great team. This protects us from burnout and trauma.
Sending ❤️ to my fellow nurses!

Sydney Cricket Ground. Steve Smith batting after just scoring his hundred. Sydney Cricket Ground. Sixers versus Scorchers. Picture of final score. Sixers 3/221

At #BBL14 at the #SydneyCricketGround watching Steve Smith score 121 runs not out. A fantastic innings.
The Sixers scored 3/220.
I am with two of my sons. One is a #Scorchers fan (he’s not that happy). The other is also a #Sixers fan.
Go Sydney Sixers!

Is it possible to go back to the days when you only get peer review requests from the journals you have actually signed up for as a peer reviewer?
I get up to 10 requests a day and seem to be registered for new journals regularly!
The peer review system is broken!

While we’re banning books…

Finland is teaching children in school how to recognize fake news and propaganda as part of critical thinking and civic responsibility. Some of this will seem very familiar.

Be. Like. Finland.

Had a conversation today about the difference between "kindness" & "niceness" in leadership so decided to post about it. The article & graphic explain why, as leaders, we should choose kindness over niceness:

It's that time of year again. The extended anticipation of knowing exactly what you want but wondering if you'll get it. 🎁
