23.11.2025 10:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0TBH, the Internet was the best in the 2000's and early 2010's. The enshittification of the Internet actually opened with the Google+ integration for YouTube comments in 2013, and later in 2020 with the ''Eclipse'' layout for deviantART, but that wasn't anything yet. I'll mention it in the next post.
18.11.2025 15:04 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0genuinely miss deviantart pre eclipse 2017 especially was craaaazy
it was always the fetish site but if you ignored that side it was such a whimsical place
met so many people on there, most of which either just disappeared completely from the net or just stopped using dA
Even when my works make me bullied by those that uses both kiwifarms and rationalwiki for my views 3/3
23.11.2025 09:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The failures of cnc4 tiberian twilight not long before I started @ani-toonspiracy.bsky.social did come to play in making my mega-crossover fix-fic for a lot of my favorite fictional universes.
Particularly when their source materials aren't good enough 2/3
2 years since starting my deviantart account, I started my mega-crossover fanseries with IRL conspiracy theories slapped onto to make at least some of it's sci-fi and supernatural elements authentic and my goto way of having social commentaries 1/3
23.11.2025 09:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0YEAH god the old DA feed was great you wouldnt miss a thing with it, i really really dislike the time line feeds i miss out on so much stuff, and none of the add ons even work cuz theres still stuff that wont show up, shit SUCKS for artists online, fuck whoever invented those stupid algorithms π
28.10.2025 16:03 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0-Fighting to be seen. It doesn't matter what time of day I post or people I follow share their work. It gets tucked nicely into their followers inbox for them to view on their own time.
Trying to use social media to promote my work takes away so much time from doing the art itself.
I hate it.
Apparently I still have a screenshot I took of my deviantART account before I abandoned it via Eclipse taking over and them embracing AI. Enjoy this cringy little time capsule. XD
I used to have an account older than this (created in 2009), but Web Archive is down right now lol.
I joined deviantart in 2008
Deviantart groups getting Eclipse UIs did make even me deleted my deviantart account
As someone who used DA as early as 2012, I agree.
Eclipse was basically the current layout the heads of DA rolled out despite a lot of folks rallying against it. While I personally didn't mind it that much, wasn't a fan of them getting rid of the chats, though.
The AI content now isn't helping...
Culture Crave πΏ @CultureCrave Jason Blum says Hollywood needs to 'embrace' AI "itβs here to stay. Itβs very important to use it ethically and legally, and for studios and guilds to protect the copyright of the artists. But if we in Hollywood stick our heads in the sand and donβt use it at all, weβre going to cede content creation to other people" "The consumer does not care if what theyβre looking at is AI" (via @Variety )
I'm a consumer.
I care.
I recently unsubscribed from the YouTube channel of a certain independent documentary film company specializing in monster documentaries because I could no longer overlook their use of AI clips in their productions.
Maybe ask animators? Me for instance? I can't use AI Gen to "enhance" my work. The resulting "images that go together to give the illusion of movement" couldn't be protected by Β© and have no actual licensing value. AIGen is the genuinely the stupidest invention for a problem that never existed.
14.10.2025 11:33 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0youtube should stop telling people what to do and stop trying to push ai and put good videos on the default home page and change how copyright works and give me 300 thousand dollars in cash
25.10.2025 16:26 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0If you look at the recent lawsuits filed against AI companies, copyright infringement is a huge problem. AI companies will need to figure out a way around this. The same way YouTube needed to when they were purchased by Google.
29.10.2025 21:10 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0A new kind of AI slop is proliferating on YouTube. Creators are noticing some of their most popular videos have been recreated on a shot-by-shot basis, with their faces and voices swapped out with AI avatars. It's clear the people behind these channels believe they're avoiding copyright infringement
30.10.2025 16:16 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Must read our TOS, buzz buzz.
I'm violating their guidelines they say, my content is age restricted they say. Copyright this copyright that. YouTube really hates fun more than ever. You can't even say fuck without YouTube breathing down your neck. It even sucks ass trying to watch content with the AI ads and content slop.
02.11.2025 09:57 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I just watched a charlie video, and apparently a person got terminated for being "associated" to another channel that got copyright striked 3 times (his channel isn't related to that channel at all) And this was done all by AI. Youtube is cooked i swear
first the new rules now AI Moderation
Youtube's broken copyright policies are root of the dead internet theory
23.11.2025 08:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"They created an entire Internet copyright law, filed 6-figure lawsuits against random people, and destroyed many early YouTube channels over music but generative AI trained on copyrighted works seems to be okay!"
12.11.2025 21:04 β π 25 π 5 π¬ 2 π 0Although it's a stretch, I anticipate some copyright troll making the argument that coming up with the prompts to feed the AI, iterative refining of the prompt and selection of a particular output are "creative acts" which is one of the tests that AI has so far failed to pass in court.
14.11.2025 14:36 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0It can make people can't do fananimations with their favorite characters(even when it's completely drawn from scratch) fir absolutely anything
23.11.2025 08:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It doesnβt do it on all of them, but it will randomly mute the music, but leave the vocals, so itβs like listening to it under water. Itβs especially bad on BTS Guide videos. I have seen so many people become ARMY after watching these guides, myself included.
14.11.2025 22:20 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0YouTube AI copyright moderation is ruining reaction videos. I donβt think labels and artists understand how important these videos can be to get new music in the hands of consumers. Itβs the primary way I discover new music, but so many of these videos are now unwatchable.
14.11.2025 22:05 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0Thanks for your report to YouTube. We aren't going to do anything about it but it's a nice distraction for the AI while it's taking a break from making false copyright claims.
21.11.2025 03:28 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I've been thinking it since shortly after Oct 7, but seeing videos like this is fuel for Nazis. Israel's ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people is making them far more unsafe.
